I always notice a big difference between how modern Christians view the early Christians and how the Bible portrays them.
Modern Christians see the early Christians as great saints of faith, but the Bible often describes them as traitors or faithless people, which is why Jesus did not trust them. For example:
When reading the Bible, it is evident that Jesus' followers abandoned him easily, such as when he was arrested and they all fled (Matthew 26:56, Mark 14:50).
Matthew 26:56: "Then all the disciples forsook him and fled."
Mark 14:50: "Then they all forsook him and fled."
Jesus denied the faith of his disciples, as mentioned in Matthew 17:20:
Matthew 17:20: "Jesus said to them: ‘Because of your unbelief. Truly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain: Move from here to there, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.’"
The Gospels indicate that Jesus did not trust his followers because they were traitors to him (John 2:23-24):
John 2:23-24: "While he was in Jerusalem at the Passover, many believed in his name when they saw the signs he performed. But Jesus did not entrust himself to them, because he knew all men."
Jesus told his followers that many of them would cry out to him on Judgment Day, but he would reject them (Matthew 7:23):
Matthew 7:21-23:
"Not everyone who says to me: ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.
Many will say to me on that day: ‘Lord, Lord! Did we not prophesy in your name? Did we not cast out demons in your name? Did we not perform many miracles in your name?’
Then I will declare to them: ‘I never knew you! Depart from me, you who practice lawlessness.’"
Conclusion: The early Christians were not saints but rather traitors without faith.
The Bible exposes the early Christians and proves that they lacked faith.
